We were founded in 2019 by a group of passionate Yale fellows devoted to the Asian Americans community, particularly in response to the Covid-19 pandemic which caused unique emotional distress, family conflicts and even xenophobic attacks. This is a collaborative effort by Dr. Eunice Yuen at Yale and Dr. Steve Sust from Stanford CHIPAO

This is a collaborative effort by Dr. Eunice Yuen at Yale and Dr. Steve Sust from Stanford CHIPAO (Communication Health Interactive for Parents of Adolescents and Others). Dr. Yuen is a child and adult psychiatry fellow at the Yale Child Study Center and Dr. Steven Sust is a clinical assistant professor at Stanford School of Medicine.
We create narratives that address the dynamics of family life. Mental health can be daunting, particularly with Asian American households. We create narratives that address the dynamics of family life. Mental health can be daunting, particularly with Asian American households. So, we translate mental wellness into a language we all understand: stories told through words and acting. Our mission aims to bring compassion and harmony to Asian American families. Our culturally sensitive programing promotes healthy child-parent communication, emotional wellness and effective coping tools for public education.
This program is supported by the American Psychiatric Association (APA), SAMHSA Minority Fellowship, and the Yale Fund for Lesbian and Gay Studies (FLAGS) awarded to Dr. Eunice Yuen.
